Our Love Story

Before baby Emma comes I would like to share an entry about her dear daddy and our love story. :)
Sueng and I met in grade school (I was about 7 and he was about 10). We met through my older brother who was and still is his best friend today. When I was young I always considered him like an older brother figure, but we barely spoke to each other because we were both very very shy.

Now fast forwarding to college, Sueng and my brother ended up going to the same school. But after graduation, Sueng decided to join the marine corp with his younger brother. My brother was going to join with them  as well, but his mind changed in the last minute. I remember while they were in boot camp I wrote a letter to Sueng wishing him well and hoping he returns safely. Til this day Sueng tells me that he was very moved by my letter and always had me in his thoughts while he was away.

He came back to NY for leave a few times, but it was during his last leave he expressed his true feelings to me. He confessed he had thought of me as a younger sister but also wanted a relationship more then that. Honestly, I thought about it a few times because I knew what a great guy he was but the thought always passed me by.

After he went back to Japan (his base), we continued to talk more and get to know each other on another level. During that time in my life I was battling depression and many issues with other guys. I was always honest about it with him though and he was very patient with me. He truly helped me conquer a lot of my battles and  supported me through. As my feelings for him were growing stronger I also began to worry. I was worried that if something was to happen between us and it didn't work out, it would ruin the relationship between my brother and him. Also our families knew each other, so that would become awkward as well. Despite these circumstances, we both took the risk and we officially started dating on Dec. 2010.

We continued dating and experienced many ups and downs, but I think we both knew in our hearts that we would be spending the rest of our lives together. Then 5 months later he proposed  to me on a surprise trip to Vegas and 6 months later in Nov. 2011, we got married! I wont lie and say we had an awesome marriage from the beginning. Just as people say, the first year is the roughest, and it was for us. But I am confident to say now we are past most of the rocky roads. However I always keep in mind that marriage is something we will both have to work together on for the rest of our lives. I love him so much and I really cannot imagine committing myself to anyone else.

It was 6 months into our marriage we found out we were pregnant! It was a surprise and really not planned. We were going to wait a year or two, but I guess little Emma wanted to make an earlier debut. :) We are both so so excited to meet her and are waiting patiently for her every day!

Awesome Surprise Baby Shower

On sat. my dear friends threw me a surprise baby shower! It was really quite a shock. I got to see friends that I haven't seen for months! I feel so blessed and thankful for all of them. I really wasn't expecting a baby shower! Not having one didn't really make me sad or anything like that. I was already so thankful for all the love, support and gifts we received from friends and family the past few months. Nonetheless, what they did for me was really amazing.

37 Weeks and 5 Days

I'm almost 38 weeks! I cant believe Emma will be here in 2 weeks! Seems really surreal. I feel like I'm ready, yet I still cant believe I'm going to be having a baby. When most people I know look at me, esp. adults, they say 'it looks like a baby is having a baby!'. Haha.

I didn't have a baby shower, but nonetheless I am so thankful to all of my friends and family for the gifts and love they shared with us through this journey. One thing I am pretty nervous but excited about it cloth diapering. I have been researching and preparing for this since the beginning of my pregnancy. I know there are many beneficial aspects to cloth diapering, but our main reason to do it is for the cost. I know it will save us a lot of money especially during this time when I will not be working. I decided to try the cheapest method first, which is using the covers and pre-folds. This method seems like it will suite us best. Hopefully it will work out. I will probably write an update about it once I start.

Also lately I have been trying my best to get as much rest as possible since my sleep has been lacking, but it has been so difficult with the pup. I don't know if it's because she knows some things are about to change in our house soon, but she has been acting like a real brat. At first I thought maybe it's because she is still a puppy, but I don't think it was ever this bad as it is now. It might also be because I'm at home during the day now, so she knows she can get more attention? Anyhow, sometimes I feel like I'm going to go in to labor because of her! I'm hoping she will relax once the baby is here.

Belly pic taken today! I have a very pointy belly~

Welcome!

Hello Everyone!! Welcome to my blog :-)

I am currently expecting my first baby girl in less then 3 weeks! My husband and I are super excited! We really can't wait to meet her. I've always been an avid blog reader but never had the courage to write one myself, so lets see how this goes. I would like to keep this blog as a diary for Emma + everyday life!

I will briefly introduce myself. I am not working at the moment but has been working in the fashion industry since graduating college. My major was fashion design, however never pursued my career in design. I have always worked in the the production side, which is pretty boring but stressful. It feels strange not to work now but I'm looking forward to being a stay at home mom for the next few months until I decide what I want to do. Everything is up in the air so I'm pretty nervous!

I have two furry friends, one Corgi pup named Nabi and one sweet cat named Babie. They are both young so it feels like I'm already taking care of two babies! They are quite a handful...esp. my dog. I hope we will all be able to transition well with the new baby coming along.

My babies~
