Emma's 100th Day Celebration

Emma turned 100days old (Baek-il) yesterday! It is Korean tradition to celebrate the babies 100th day of living because back in the day the mortality rate was so high that many babies didn't live past 100 days. On this day friends and family celebrate the struggle of the first 100 days for the baby and mom along with wishing the baby to live a long and healthy life moving forward. Also it is believed that if you share rice cake with 100 people the baby will live a long life.

We only invited immediate family to the dinner. My mom came and helped me cook traditional Korean food. Unfortunately I was very busy, so I was not able to take many pictures of the food.
Her dress!
Yarn around her neck, symbolizing long life.
Showing off her bling bling haha.
