Start of 2015

Im now currently 31 weeks pregnant with baby girl#2! I feel like this pregnancy is zooming by. Except for my acid reflux, I’m pretty comfortable so far. Emma has been doing great. Her speech is developing faster than I thought it would. At 24 ½ months has started to talk in sentences, knows her ABC’s and counting 1-10 in Korean and English. She also pretty much knows most of her colors and shapes as well. J We just bought her the reversible Kura bed from IKEA since we need the crib mattress for the baby and since they will be sharing a room together, getting this bed seemed to make the most sense. Right now she is sleeping on the bottom bunk and we are using the top for storage. I just wish she would sleep through the night! I don’t know why but she has been waking up at least 2-3 times a night. When she sees neither of us not lying next to her, she will cry bloody murder.

It’s been very cold in NY, I had a bad cough for about 1 month. The doctor refused to give me meds so recovering naturally took longer than I thought it would. Thankfully it didn’t turn in to something more serious. My husband started the Spring semester end of Jan so he’s been very busy with juggling work during the day and school at night We’ve been clashing for the past few weeks about so many things…it has been stressing me out. I confronted him about it but usually our talks don’t go anywhere since we are both stubborn in our own ways. It’s tough. Anyways...I guess this too shall pass as it usually does. Maybe this pregnancy is making me feel more sensitive about it though my husband will probably beg to differ.

What else is new? My company had a huge layoff last month so it’s been pretty quiet in the office. Since I am pregnant they decided to help me out and keep me until I give birth and come back from maternity leave (need the insurance), Once I come back, I will know what they want to do with me. I know I need to work but of course the mother in me wants to really stay home and watch the kids. It’s always the dilemma. Work or be a SAHM.

I haven’t been meeting up with many people since my 2nd pregnancy. Only my best friend I try to meet every month. I used to reach out to friends first and try to keep in touch, but I guess as I get older I feel lazier? I also don’t feel like spending money going out anymore. I want to also cherish the rest of the time it will only be the three of us. We are going to become a family of 4! Seems so fast.

New Years Day- In her traditional Hanbok :)

Celebrating the 2yr Birthday! I made her the fur vest to match her leopard dress :)

First time making a birthday cake!

We went to Myrtle beach for a long weekend in the end of Jan. Emma had a blast playing in the kiddie pool.

Happy Valentines Day! We just went out for a quick dinner since both my husband and I was sick that day.

Expecting Baby #2!

We are expecting baby#2 in April 2015! Emma will have a baby sister :). Honestly it was hard to take in at first since my husband and I were hoping for a boy but im happy that Emma will be having a sister.

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and just had her anatomy scan today. Most of my pregnancy symptoms are the same as they were when I was carrying Emma. Thats one of the reasons why i felt like it was going to be another girl.

Its been a rough past few months hence the lack of posts since i finally tried to make time to blog. After all the morning sickness and lethargy during work subsided, it looks like i may be jobless soon. Company is planning a layoff (perfect time...). I have been pretty stressed out about our financial situation and also since we moved again recently it has been quite hectic settling in with all the holidays coming up.

Seems like every month there ia something new. Not complaining but just feeling a bit unstable. Husband has been continuing school full time along with working full time.

Emma has been continuing to grow into the most precious and loving little girl. She has been talking so much these days! I worry she may be very jealous of the new baby in the beginning but i know she will love her sister so much.

I cant believe she is going to turn 2 in less than 2 months!!
I will try to make a more detailes update on her toddler life soon.

8 Months Later....

Wow i cant believe i havent written for over 8 months! Emma is already 18 months old now. We celebrated her one year birthday inviting all our family and friends. It feels like just yesterday. She is surely turning in to a lovely little girl with so much energy and curiosity.

I honestly havent looked back to read any of my old entries until last night. But Im really glad i did and was able to record most of Emmas first year. Without this blog i wouldnt remember a thing! After reading the entries it made me want to write again. Despite my busy schedule these days hopefully i can make time to continue.

So a lot has happened the past few months. To some it all up, we ended up moving out of my inlaws house and I started working full time. Currently both my mother inlaw and mom take turns watching her. Soon we will have to think about daycare though.

Between all of that, both my brother and brother inlaw got married! It has been a good year so far.

Work has been so busy and stressful. Makes me question what my true career path is....mainly because of all the time i spend at work. But i will keep this for a new entry.

For now here are some recent photos!
So sad summer is almost over!

9 and 10 Month Update!

The past two months have been busy. With Thanksgiving the past weekend, the holidays have officially begun. Emma has grown and developed so much the past two months! I cant believe she will soon tuen 1!!

Eating:
She has been eating the same foods as her last 8 month update which are porridge with veggies or meats. Only difference is, we dont puree it as much so it has more texture.

She has three meals a day with little snacks in between. She lovess her cheerios and mum mums. I am still breastfeeding her but now only 3-4x a day. I weaned her night feedings towards the end of her 9th month.

Sleeping:
We have officially moved her back into her own room. With her starting to be more aware of her surroundings, we knew if we didnt do it now, it would be harder to do it later.

Also starting from when she started teething in her 8th month, she developed a habit of waking up and being nursed. Because she was waking up so frequently from teething she was being nursed more often at night. I think this just became a habit after a while so it started to become a problem because we were both lacking lots of sleep.

Sadly Emma just developed a fever sunday morning and its still on and off. So with this fever going on we have not been sleeping much. Hopefully after she gets better she will be back on some sort of schedule.

Misc.
During the end of her 9th month she officially started to crawl. She is moving faster and faster! Also she stood up on her own in her crib maybe twice so far! She also started to be much more vocal. She loves to open her month really wide and sing while clapping :)

Emma has also been giving kisses. Its the cutest thing!! Her personality is certainly starting to show.

Miss strawberry shortcake for halloween :)
Her first perm kkkkk ;p

8 Month Update

Emma is 8 months!! She is growing growing growing!

Eating:
She has been continuing to eat puréed jared food along with pureed meats with vegetables. She loves food and is starting to pick up and eat foods on her own.

Morning: has a bowl of pureed fruits mixed with oatmeal

Lunch: usually pureed porridge vegetable or with meats.

Dinner: same as lunch. But will had fruits too.

She breastfeeds a total of about 5-6 times a day and has 1 bottle of formula while im at work.

This month im going to try led weaning slowly.

Sleeping:
She has been teething the past few weeks and her two bottom teeth her growing in. I believe because of her teething she has been waking up more frequently. Its either that or she feels that is is in a new house so she isn't quite used to the environment.

But anyways its been super tiring. It feels like she is a newborn again! She falls asleep at like 11 or 12 and wakes up several times during night until 8:30-9 in the morning. Her day naps are still about 3x for 30-40min long.

Her routine is basically gone. Its hard now that we live with my in-laws since they sleep very late and make more noise. Im not sure if i can really put her down any earlier...

Misc.:
This month she has been saying 'um-ma and ah ppa' which is mom and dad in korean! She esp calls for me more at night time. Its the most precious thinggg! She also has been trying to crawl this month. Shes not yet on her knees but she can basically scoot herself around wherever she wants to go.

Another thing she has been doing this month is pooping and peeing in the toilet! My mother in law has been bringing her to the toilet whenever she looks like shes pooping. And when she puts her on the toilet she tells her to poop and pee and she has been doing it!
I cant believe shes already potty training. Its been an amazing month watching her grow.

Oh and i cant forget the clapping. She loves to clap now. She does it a lot! Haha. Its the most precious thing. :)

Life Update!

Its been a crazy month so far. I started working part time at my father in laws hat business and we also moved in to my in-laws house. Its been so busy with the business and the sudden move. I cant believe its almost October already.
Sueng also started school full time + working full time so its been a tough few weeks adjusting to everything. Since Im working part time, my mother and mother in law has been watching Emma. I make lunch for the office, and go in at 1-5:30pm. Its not too bad other then missing my munchkin.
Im still breastfeesing for the most part but  during the times someone else is watching her, she drinks formula.

It was a tough decision to move back in my in laws (we lived in thier basement for a few months after we got married), but after thinking about all the factors and the money we can save, I agreed to do it.

Unfortunately nothing is free and can be the way we want now that we are living with other people. We gave away Babie our cat and we are in the process of giving away Nabi our corgi. It was a tough decision for us but because suengs mom is sick and cant really care for both Emma and the dog we know it will be the best for our family.

So far things are finally starting to settle down. Its been a rough few weeks but im hopeful that everything will work out to its best.

7 Month Update!

Its almost been a month since I blogged! There has been so much going on with our family and Emma that I simply had barely any time to myself. Before talking about family stuff, Ill start with Emma's monthly update.

Eating:
She is still loving solids! I was making her baby food in the beginning but because we have WIC, I just started to feed her the gerber jared food (fruits/veggies). I loved making her food but, its free, and plus now that I started working part time everyday, it just became one less thing to worry about. Nevertheless she loves it and has tried all the different ones. Sweet potato and pears are probably her favorite. We also gave her a few MUM MUMs to try out. She loves those as well.  We give it to her once in a while.

So with the jared purees have been mixing them with either oatmeal or rice cereal. Morning its usually 3/4 jar with some oatmeal (mix so consistency is a bit thicker). Lunch is usually 1/2 jar veggie mixed with rice cereal and 1/2 jar fruit just puréed.

Sleeping:
This month she has been sleeping pretty well. We dont have a strict sleep schedule because sueng takes night classes three days a week, so I have been picking him up from the train station. She has been sleeping at around 1100-1130pm and has been waking up around 8:30-9am. Yes its a very late bed time but we really have no choice for those three days.

Other nights we try to put her in by 9-10pm. If she falls asleep around 9-10, she will wake up for a night feeding at around 2-3am then again at 6-7am and then wake up at about 830-9am for the day. But more recently I noticed if she falls asleep in the later time (11-11:30), she will sleep through until 5-6am. I guess because she is very tired from sleeping so late.

Misc.
This month she reached another milestone of sitting up! She is still working on it, but for the most part she can sit up for a few minutes alone. Of course I put cushions around her just incase. She also has been trying to crawl. Shes not there yet, but she is maneuvering herself around very well to all directions. She is also rolling all over the place. Unfortunely one scare this month was she rolled off our bed. It was a real frightening experience, but thankfully she is ok. She did get a bruise on her forehead but it disappeared now.

She has been loving her Sophie and other teething toys. We got her a booster high chair and she has been loving that as well. I just love to see her face after a long day of work. She gives me the brightest smiles all the time showing me she missed me. She reaches her arms out to me. It's the most precious thing.

This month she also caught her first cold. Luckily she had no fever and only a runny nose and cough. It was pretty mild so it didn't last too long. That's was a rough weekend for us because we had to go to the doctor twice in one weekend about her fall and cold. It was a big lesson for my husband and I.

A lot has changed the past month and will continue to change in our family. Its been very stressful but hopefully things will settle down and i will be able to feel a sense of relief and comfort soon.

I love you baby!!!
